Charlotte was born and raised in Elkton, Maryland. She is one of three children. Though she comes from a musical family, she did not start singing until she was fourteen. A group from her church asked her to join them. She agreed and sang with them for two years. When she was seventeen she was asked to sing soprano for the Nelons. She sang with the Nelons for five years.

Although totally blind from birth, Gordon Mote was not much different from other children his age.  While the world told Gordon and his family that he would never live a "normal" life, they chose not to believe that, but instead chose to believe God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11 that God had plans for Gordon, plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans for a hope and a future!

Harvest was started in October 2002, and in just a short time has been blessed to sing in most of the southeastern states. The driving Bluegrass Gospel and anointed original songs of Caleb Smith have been enjoyed at many churches and singings.
